An English breakfast is a delightful combination of sausage, bacon, eggs, tomato, baked beans, mushrooms, hash browns and toast. Not only is it delicious, but it can give you a great injection of energy and set you up for the whole day. Luckily, it doesn’t just have to be eaten for breakfast, but makes a nice lunch or dinner too.

Here’s how to become an expert in the art of the English breakfast.

Sausages and Bacon

An integral part of the dish is the sausages and bacon. The best sausages and bacon will be crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. A good rule of thumb is to leave both in for a little longer than you would expect. Grill the sausages and fry the bacon in olive oil.

Eggs

The eggs can be scrambled, fried or poached. The fried egg is the traditional way, but all three are widely used. Season the scrambled egg generously with salt and pepper.

Hash Browns

Hash browns are made out of shredded potato that has been formed into little cakes and fried like a chip. The best hash browns are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Mushrooms and Tomato

The finishing touch to the meal is the tomatoes and mushrooms. Fry both in olive oil and season with garlic.
