Your Step-by-step Guide to Making a Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are a super popular breakfast item and they make the perfect snack. They’re thick smoothies that you eat with a spoon and then they’re topped with add-ons. Why buy them when you can make them at home and specialize them to your tastes? Here’s your guide to making a smoothie bowl.

Step 1: Add Frozen Fruit

In order to keep your smoothie bowl from turning into a smoothie, you need to use frozen fruit. Choose your favorite fruits and add them to a blender. Add some frozen bananas to give your smoothie the creaminess. If you don’t like bananas, you can use avocados, but you’ll need to add more honey/maple syrup in the next step.

Step 2: Add Milk & Honey

Add 3 tablespoons of the milk of your choosing and 1-2 tablespoons of honey, depending on how sweet your want it. For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.

Step 3: Blend

Start on a low speed and then increase the speed to high. Make sure all the ingredients get down into the blades. Turn off the blender and use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the container and to push the ingredients into the blades. Keep blending until the mixture is smooth and thick.

Step 4: Add-Ins

If you want to put add-ins like chia seeds, protein powder, nut butter, or acai powder, put them in now.

The Açaí Berry Blast Smoothie Bowl!💙🍓💜 What was the first smoothie bowl you ever tried?🥥 If you’re like me, it was that pretty, berry colored açaí bowl with ALL the toppings.🤩 If any one ingredient can be credited for starting the smoothie bowl craze, it would have to be acai, an indigenous berry from the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. 💜Açai’s popularity soared after discovering that the pulp holds it very high nutritional value, if frozen soon after processing, making the antioxidant rich berry available word wide.💙This popular smoothie bowl is as pretty as it is delicious. I’ve added in ground chia seeds and peanut butter for extra nutrients and richness.🥜And nothing tastes better on a hot summer day than a soft serve style, dessert-for-breakfast, fruity smoothie bowl topped with your favorite granola and fresh berries!💙🍓💜 #letsblendvegan – 👉for the full recipe just tap the link in my bio✅ and then tap on this exact photo✅ – You can also copy and paste this link in your browser:👉 https://www.vegetafull.org/the-acai-berry-blast – 👉Blend in a high powered blender until creamy: 1️⃣1 100g pouch of frozen unsweetened pure acai berry puree (I’ve had good luck with 2️⃣Sambazon superfruit pack) 3️⃣2 large ripe bananas 4️⃣2 large medjool dates, pitted 5️⃣2 teaspoons of vanilla extract 6️⃣1/8 teaspoon of fine sea salt 7️⃣2 tablespoons of your favorite peanut butter 8️⃣2 tablespoons of ground chia seeds 9️⃣2 cups of mixed frozen berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries) 👉Top with your favorite granola and fresh berries and dig in! Step 5: Toppings

When the smoothie reaches the consistency you want, pour it into bowls. Now’s the time to add the toppings which set smoothie bowls apart from smoothies. Some topping you can use are granola, nut butter, fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, and flaked coconut.
