Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is no stranger to experimenting in the kitchen and coming up with his own cooking techniques and recipes. He often shares his culinary discoveries in interviews and they are almost always worth trying out.

During a recent appearance on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast, McConaughey detailed a recipe for tuna salad that he apparently prepares every Sunday. And let us tell you, it is not for the faint-hearted.

According to McConaughey, who called himself a “tuna salad master maker,” he starts with a base that consists of “your good tuna” before adding lemon juice, vinegar, and mayonnaise mixed with wasabi. He then loads it will chopped red onions, dill pickle gherkins, and crispy jalapeño chips for an added crunch. But wait, there is more.

McConaughey then likes to add a sweet component with chopped apples and agave syrup before finishing off with corn and frozen green peas. He also recommends putting it in the fridge and eating it the next day.

McConaughey’s unusual tuna salad creation has since taken social media by storm and it appears that people can’t get enough of it. If you would like to try it out yourself, check out this video recipe by The Salad Lab.
