What to do with Leftover Pizza Dough

It sounds impossible, but sometimes pizza night ends up with leftovers. If you couldn’t get through all your balls of dough, here are some ways to use them up over the next few days without having to freeze them.

Make Pita Bread

Although pizza dough is slightly different than pita bread, you can still throw small circles of dough into a hot pan and watch them puff up into a pita-like item.

Breadsticks

Roll the dough into long cylinders, brush with olive oil, and heat in the oven for quick, easy, and delicious breadsticks. Bonus points if you have some pizza sauce leftover for dipping.

Cinnamon Rolls

Pizza dough makes surprisingly good cinnamon rolls. Simply shape the flattened dough into a roll, top with cinnamon and butter, and bake!

Calzones

Okay, so a calzone is pretty much just a pizza in a different shape, but really, but who can get sick of pizza? This is a great way to put a spin on your pizzas from the night before.

Garlic Knots

These pizzeria classics are simple and delicious. Form the dough into small, bite size balls and brush with butter before topping with chopped garlic and baking until golden brown and crispy.
