Toast Your Own Coconut at Home

You can upgrade many different desserts with toasted coconut and it’s actually pretty easy to toast it at home! Below are the steps you can follow if you want to toast your own flaked or shredded coconut. Once you make it, you can store it in a jar and use whenever you want on top of your yogurt, ice cream, cakes, and many more delicious sweets!

Instructions:

  1. Before starting, preheat the oven to 325°F. Layer the sheet pan with parchment paper and spread coconut flakes/shredded coconut in a thin layer. Put the pan on the middle rack.
  2. Let it bake for 3-4 minutes, then take the pan out and stir with a wooden spoon. Flatten the coconut on the bottom of the pan and return to the oven for another few minutes.
  3. You’ll know your coconut is done once it starts browning, but don’t let it burn! Take it out and leave to cool completely. Store in a closed container and use whenever you want some additional coconut flavor.
