There’s a New Mac and Cheese Ice Cream You Have to Try

Van Leeuwen is an ice creamery from New York that has a new flavor you must try—mac and cheese! The product was born from a collaboration between Val Leeuwen and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Could it be the next hit or a total miss?

“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream,” Emily Violett, Kraft’s Senior Associate Brand Manager, said in a press release. “That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with.” As she further notes, the new ice cream is made with “high-quality ingredients” without any “artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes.” The color and the flavor come from Kraft’s cheese sauce mix.

Could it really be good? It’s definitely not for everyone. The brand has a variety of vegan options and this is definitely not one of them. It’s absolutely unique and worth trying just for the sake of novelty. And who knows, they may start a trend of savory ice creams which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Imagine all the possible combinations!
