The Ultimate Spiced Meatloaf Recipe

    Meatloaf is a comfort food classic that has been a staple in many households for generations. But if you’re looking to elevate this humble dish with a burst of flavor, this ultimate spiced meatloaf recipe is the way to go. Let’s dive into how you can create this mouth-watering dish at home.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    • 1/2 pound ground pork
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    For the glaze:

    • 1/2 cup ketchup
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F. 
    2. Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease a loaf pan. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and pork. 
    3. Soak breadcrumbs in milk until absorbed, then add to meat. Mix in egg, onion, garlic, Parmesan, parsley, Worcestershire, mustard, spices, salt, and pepper. 
    4. Shape into a loaf and place on a prepared sheet or pan. 
    5. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and paprika. Spread half over the meatloaf. 
    6. Bake for 45 minutes, add remaining glaze, and bake for 15-20 minutes more. 
    7. Let rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve.
