There’s a piece of conventional wisdom that says you should try to get as many colors as possible into your diet. Theoretically, it’s a sign that you’re getting a solid variety of nutrients and food groups each day. (Of course, it doesn’t work perfectly since you could simply eat a bowl of fruit loops and call it a day.) One color that’s a little harder to find in nature is pink. So if you love to get color in your diet, here are some pink foods to try.

Beets

Beets are a great source of fiber and vitamins since they are a vegetable, but they are also sweet and earthy which makes them very versatile. They’re great in soups, salads, roasted veggie medleys, and more. You can also use their juice to add color to lots of other dishes.

Rhubarb

Rhubarb is something of an underrated fruit, but it’s especially good in pastries, crumbles, and cobblers. It’s got a very unique flavor which isn’t for everyone, so it also does well cooked and mixed in with other fruits to add its special something without being overwhelming.

Berries

Berries such as raspberries and strawberries will turn a smoothie or a sauce pink when blended with lighter ingredients. Adding blueberries or blackberries will give you an even lovelier deep pink or purple as well.
