Can you believe that November starts next week? The eleventh month of the year is best known for one of the most important food-based celebrations out there—Thanksgiving—but there are a number of lesser-known gastronomic festivities that can be celebrated in November too.

Let’s take a look at some of the best ones, which you can choose to celebrate in the upcoming weeks!

November 5th: National Doughnut Day

Doughnuts are one of my favorite sweet treats. Whether they are doughy or cakey, baked or fried, frosted or plain—there is always a type of doughnut you can find out there to make you happy. You could even try a special fall variety—like an apple cider or a maple bacon doughnut—on this day!

November 17th: Homemade Bread Day

Making bread at home isn’t as difficult as you probably think it is. Why not put your skills to the test on the seventeenth of November and try to make a loaf of sourdough or rye in your own kitchen? Seeing the final result is so rewarding!

November 30th: National Mousse Day

Mousse is a light and fluffy dessert made from whipped egg whites, whipped cream, or both, and flavored with additions such as chocolate, fruit, or coffee. Why not order this treat at your favorite restaurant or even try making your own on the last day of November?
