Should You Start a Cooking Channel?

The thing about starting a cooking channel is that you don’t necessarily have to big a five-star chef. Sure, it’s common for most cooking influencers to display an air of professionalism, but there’s a lot more than goes into it. If you’re thinking about starting one yourself, there are a few aspects to it that you need to consider beforehand, and here’s what they are.

You Need Something Unique

It doesn’t matter if you’re a five-star chef or an amateur. In order to get attention on social media, you need to have something unique about you that draws people in. We’re not saying that this has to be the main part of your attraction, but rather the thing that gets people into the door. Whether you focus on vegan food, or specifically make Disney-themed chocolate cakes, you have to find a niche and stick to it.

The Bare Minimum

As mentioned, you don’t need to be a professional to start your own cooking channel—but you still need to be pretty good. There is a bare minimum when it comes to hard skills for cooking influencers. Viewers are ultimately the deciders of who gets attention, but they probably won’t stick around if it’s obvious you don’t have much to offer.
