Restaurant Belcanto is considered one of the best in Portugal. It’s located in the historic center of Lisbon and run by one of the most talented Portuguese chefs, José Avillez. Belcanto was opened in 1958 in the romantic neighborhood of Chiado, in São Carlos square. The amazing location, great atmosphere, and delicious food turned this restaurant into a gathering place of many.
The restaurant got its first Michelin star in 2012 after Avillez took over. Two years later, it got another Michelin star and became the first Lisbon restaurant with this prestigious status.
Belcanto offers contemporary Portuguese cuisine in sophisticated ambient that nobody can’t resist. It’s a place you’ll enjoy with all your senses, whether you opt for à la carte menu or one of two degustation menus carefully crafted to take you on a culinary journey.
