Mistakes You Make While Baking Cakes

Baking a cake always seems easy when somebody else does it, but there are actually many small mistakes you can make along the way that can absolutely ruin your dessert. Here are some of them.

Multiple Substitutions

It’s alright to substitute one ingredient with another if you know what you’re doing, but if you basically change the whole recipe you don’t get to complain about the failed cake! If you want to switch an ingredient, do just one at a time so you know for sure if your substitute worked or not.

Not Using Scale

Measurements that are given in cups are never precise and you want to look for the recipes that tell you the correct amount of each ingredient, then use the kitchen scale to weigh everything.

Cold Ingredients

Make sure your butter, milk, eggs, and other ingredients stored in the fridge are taken out in advance so they warm up to the room temperature. Using cold ingredients can mess up your effort big time.
