Make These Easy Butter Cookies

Butter cookies are simple to make yet they are delicious every time. If you want to make your own batch to enjoy fresh with a cup of tea or coffee, here’s how to do it.

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Prepare two baking sheets and line them with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Lightly brown butter in a saucepan over low heat. 4-5 minutes should be enough.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and add fennel seeds, vanilla extract, and salt. Swirl the pan gently to mix the ingredients.
  4. Add sugar and whisk to blend. Let it cool for several minutes before adding egg yolks. Whisk again. Fold in the flour until there are no more dry spots.
  5. Transfer the batter into a piping bag and attach a medium star tip, then make circles on the baking sheets.
  6. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, until their edges turn golden.
  7. Cool before serving.
