When it comes to quick and delicious desserts, nothing beats a mug cake. It’s a great option for when you’re in a hurry or when you’re just craving something sweet so bad that you can’t wait more than a few minutes. It only needs five to six minutes to be ready and you can customize it however you want. Switching up the ingredients and adding different topics makes this dessert truly amazing. Here’s how to make a mug cake variant with Nutella.

The recipe comes from chef Catherine Brookes of Blue Sky Eating. If you have a microwave and a mug, you can make it right now. The ingredients are very basic and you probably already have all of them in your kitchen. They include flour, sugar, milk, and an egg. The only thing you may miss is Nutella, so run to the store to get a jar before you start. While you’re there, grab some things to use for toppings, like whipped cream and fresh fruit.

Our tip is to start the process by lightly greasing the mug so the batter won’t stick. You can use a separate mug for mixing the ingredients but that’s not really necessary. Find the full recipe in the video below.
