We can’t turn water into wine, but we can turn flour and water into pizza! Pizza is one of the easiest things to order when you don’t feel like cooking, but nothing tastes quite as impressive as one you’ve made yourself from scratch. The art—and yes, it is an art—of pizza-making may seem daunting and complex, but we’ve got you covered.

Ingredients:

• 700 milliliter warm water
• 1 kilogram white bread flour
• 7 gram dried yeast
• 1 pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Fill a bowl with warm water and add salt and part of the flour. Add the yeast and stir. Add the rest of the flour and start to combine using your hands.
  2. Once the mixture begins to form a sticky dough, remove it from the bowl and place it on a flat surface dusted with flour.
  3. Knead the dough until it becomes springy and smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a large flour-dusted bowl and flour the top of it. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and place it in a warm room for about an hour until the dough has doubled in size.
  5. Once ready, place the dough on a flour-dusted surface and knead it around a bit to push the air out with your hands (AKA knocking back the dough).
  6. Take a ball of dough and spread it out to make your pizza bases. The leftover bases can be frozen.
