Flavor-Bursting Homemade Hamburger Helper Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 2 cups of elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. 
  2. Stir in paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. 
  3. Add milk and beef broth, and bring to a simmer. 
  4. Add elbow macaroni, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally. 
  5. Remove from heat, add shredded cheddar cheese, and stir until melted and creamy. 
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
