Pinterest is predicting that epic charcuterie boards will be one of the biggest food trends of the upcoming year and we’re already seeing the emergence of this new craze.
According to Pinterest’s report, “Millennials and Gen Z will think bigger than salami and crackers as the new snack to share”, transforming candy charcuterie boards, breakfast spreads, and taco boards into the next big food trend.
Breakfast, candy, dessert, and fruit charcuterie boards were amongst the most searched food terms on this photo-sharing platform in 2020, and Mexican charcuterie boards also experienced a significant rise in popularity. Epic charcuterie boards are ruling the world right now, and we didn’t even need Pinterest to tell us that.
In the last few weeks alone, we witnessed the rise of several new charcuterie trends, as food bloggers abandoned the classic cheese and meat boards. Hot chocolate and sundae boards put a sweet twist on this trend, while charcuterie chalets and jarcuterie completely changed the shape of the classic boards—and we can’t wait to see all the new trends coming our way in the year to come.
