Eating Kiwis with the Skin On? It’s Not as Crazy As You Might Think

Kiwis are one of our favorite fruits. These tangy and sweet fruits are the perfect size and pack a whole lot of flavor in a small body. It’s not surprising that kiwis have become one of the most trending fruits around the world in recent years.

The typical way in which we enjoy kiwis differs from the traditional eating method. While most people remove the skin of kiwis before slicing them and eating with a fork, we do something totally different. Are you ready for this?

Sure, we use a knife to prepare our kiwi too, but only to cut off the inedible ends. After this, we thoroughly wash the skin and eat it whole! Did you know that this was possible?

Well, it is. Eating kiwis with the skin on isn’t only possible, but it’s also delicious and healthy.

If you eat kiwis with the skin on, you will find several nutritional benefits that you might not have known existed. Peeling the skin off of a kiwi removes several key nutrients from the fruit. Leaving it on will provide you with a boost of fiber (up to three times more than skinned kiwi) as well as a rise in the amount of Vitamin C.

We don’t only eat the skin of kiwis for health reasons, though. We think that the skin provides a tart taste that makes kiwis even richer and more delicious. The texture takes some getting used to, but once you get over that, you’ll realize just how delicious it is.
