You can never have enough burger buns when organizing a barbecue or craving a homemade burger. Even if you don’t use up all of them, they don’t have to go to waste. Leftover burger buns can be a great excuse to fire up the grill again or you can simply get creative and use one of the following ideas.
Sandwich
Just because it is called a burger bun, it doesn’t mean you can’t use it for sandwiches. You can opt for a breakfast sandwich with avocado, eggs, and cheese or go the panini route for a crispy delight.
French Toast
Your burger buns will likely be stale by the next morning, making them perfect for French toast. Simply whisk some eggs in a bowl and add milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Dip the buns in the mixture, fry them in a pan, and enjoy a quick and tasty breakfast treat.
Croutons
Finally, leftover burger buns can be a great starter for homemade croutons. Cut the burger bun into cubes, spread evenly on a baking sheet, and bake at 350F for 10 minutes. You can optionally dress the burger bun cubes with dried garlic powder and other seasoning for more taste. When baked, store in an airtight container and use for soups and salads.
Garlic Bread
Making garlic bread with burger buns is super easy and quick. Combine softened butter with minced garlic, olive oil, dried parsley, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Split the burger buns or simply make several deeper cuts on top. Generously brush with the mixture and bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 10 minutes.
