After you’ve completed a successful gym session, you might feel like you deserve a drink or two. However, it’s important to be mindful of what you consume, so your hard work doesn’t go to waste. The truth is that there are certain drinks you should avoid like the plague when you’re done working out, and here are three of them.

Coffee

Exercise already gives you a good energy boost, so you probably don’t need coffee. Drinking coffee might make you feel jittery and tired earlier than you’d like. As much as you may enjoy the feeling of drinking it, we’d suggest avoiding it and going for a decaf or herbal tea instead.

Alcohol

Depending on the time of your workout, you might be tempted to join your friends for some drinks right after the gym. But this isn’t the best idea. Alcohol can dehydrate your body and lead to a rough hangover the next day. If you want a drink, opt for light beer as a better choice.

Soda

Soda is loaded with sugar, making it a drink to avoid at all times, especially after working out. It might make you feel full temporarily, but it offers no real nutritional value.
