Canned corn is usually used in salads, soups, or as a side dish. However, it can also become a star of any meal by itself if you just add a few simple ingredients.
Butter
We already know that butter and corn on the cob are a match made in heaven. Well, you can successfully recreate that deliciousness by infusing your canned corn with butter. Simply drain the canned corn and heat it in a saucepan and mix in the butter. Add salt and pepper to taste and enjoy.
Hot Sauce
Tabasco, Sriracha, or any other hot sauce works out great with canned corn. Add a splash of your favorite hot sauce after draining the canned corn and mix well. That’s it.
Cheese
Cheesy canned corn is a decadent treat that you didn’t know you needed in your life. You can use any type of cheese and get a great result. If you prefer your canned corn cold, just add some cream cheese. If you like it warm, heat it up in a saucepan and then transfer it to a bowl before grating cheddar, gouda, or Monterey jack all over it and giving it a good mix until the cheese melts.
Honey
Honey and canned corn can seem like an odd mix, but trust us on this one. Fresh corn is usually sweet but the canned version can lose a lot of this sweetness. By adding honey, or other sweetener like maple syrup, you’ll just restore its original flavor.
