TikTok became our favorite place to look for new trends and hacks. The network’s users are never shy to share some of the best tricks they learned over time, and today we bring you our favorite kitchen cleaning tips. They will give you the needed motivation to go and make your kitchen spotless right now!

Cleaning the Plughole

Cleaning the plughole has never been easier! All you need is some white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, and boiling water. Make sure your sink is damp and pour 40 grams of soda down the drain. Leave for half an hour, then follow with 100ml of vinegar. Pour a full kettle of boiling water down the sink to wash it off.

Cleaning the Microwave

Cleaning the microwave can be daunting, but it gets much easier if you start by microwaving a bowl of water with 50ml white vinegar and some sliced lemon. Do a five-minute program and leave the door closed for five more minutes, then get cleaning.

Cleaning Baking Dishes

Baking dishes can get so dirty that you never want to clean them, but there’s a way you can make the task a lot easier. Make a paste using white vinegar, dish soap, and bicarbonate of soda. Scrub the dish with the paste (wear gloves!) and cover with a kitchen roll. Leave it for an hour then wipe everything with a kitchen roll and wash as usual.

Investing money in quality kitchen tools such as a blender or a food processor can make your job in the kitchen much easier and save you a lot of time. And food bloggers can’t seem to live without them. These are the four kitchen tools they have in their kitchens.

Organizational Containers

Chungah Rhee from Damn Delicious is just one of many bloggers who claim that organizational containers are an essential part of successful meal prep. They are useful for storing pre-made snacks and meals in the fridge.

Baking Steel

Food photographer and blogger Dennis Prescott believes baking steel is one of the most useful kitchen tools and he uses them on a daily basis. Baking steel is very versatile and great for preparing perfectly cooked and crispy pizza, bread, burgers, or roasted chicken.

Kitchen Scale

The first step towards preparing delicious sweet and savory dishes is measuring your ingredients correctly. That’s why Layla Atik from Gimme Delicious Food thinks every aspiring chef should have a good kitchen scale.

Mason Jars

Denise of Sweet Peas and Saffron loves mason jars because they are affordable and perfect for storing food or serving salads, smoothies, or juices.

If you’re like most people, you probably keep the plastic wrap in a drawer. You’re also probably already used to it clinging on itself if you make the tiniest mistake while packing up the food. Did you know that there’s a way to make it way easier to handle? As we recently found out, it’s actually best to keep the plastic wrap in the freezer! Here’s the science behind it.

While it may take you a while to get used to grabbing the wrap from the freezer instead of your usual drawer, it will make the job easier and faster. When kept in a cold place, the plastic will temporarily lose its stickiness. Don’t worry, it will still cling to anything you want it to, but the annoying static electricity will be removed thanks to the coolness.

The way plastic wrap is made makes it change in a different climate, which your freezer definitely is.

If you try this hack, you’ll see that it gets a lot easier to unroll and use the plastic wrap. Once you wrap the dish and it warms up a bit, it will return to its old sticky state. The added benefit is some extra space in your kitchen cabinets!

Go inspect your oven and see if it comes with a drawer, because for many people the purpose of it is a puzzle. This is especially true if you’re renting the place and didn’t get your own appliances. Let’s see how you can use this handy addition to your oven.

Broiler Drawer

Some ovens come with a broiler drawer, which is meant for roasting vegetables, browning casseroles, and desserts (like crème brulée). Although it can be very practical, caution is required when using it. Unlike the main part of the oven, it doesn’t have a window to see through so you need to open it often to check on your dish.

Warming Drawer

Some stove drawers are meant for warming up food or keeping the fresh food warm until you’re ready to take it out. This is great for holidays and all kinds of gatherings, as well as for the dishes that shouldn’t get cold before serving.

Storage Drawer

Your oven drawer may just be a simple storage drawer, but it’s still useful. If you store some of the bigger dishes there, you will free up the counter and cabinet space for more cute cups and bowls. They look better than pots and baking sheets anyway.

Microwave ovens are a marvel of kitchen technology, but even though they’ve been around for so long most of us probably take them for granted. In a pinch, heating up food in a flash in these electrical appliances is so convenient and makes life much easier.

However, there are some important safety tips that are easy to forget when using these appliances. Here are a few that you should always keep in mind to stay safe and healthy.

Never Microwave Metal or Plastic

Microwaves are not meant to have any sort of metal or plastic inside of them. Metals can spark and cause a fire, while plastic can be melted by microwave energy—releasing toxic fumes and particles into the food you are warming up.

Cover with a Paper Towel

If you overheat food in a microwave oven, it can result in an explosion and possibly a fire that could be devastating to your home and kitchen. It sounds hard to believe, but just covering up your food with a paper towel when heating it can stop it from “spitting” and potentially causing a fire.

Protect Your Hands

The same rules that apply to taking food out of a conventional oven also apply to microwaves. Protect your hands with oven mitts or gloves when removing a hot plate or container from a microwave oven to ensure you don’t burn your hands!

We can’t imagine life without modern appliances, and when it comes to storing food, the freezer makes it so convenient. If you don’t organize it properly, your freezer will quickly become a mess of frozen meals and ingredients and you won’t even know what you have anymore. Here are some of our best tips that are beneficial for everyone.

Work Around Your Habits

We all have different food habits and use our freezers in different ways, so acknowledging this is the first step towards better organization. Understand what you freeze most often. Are those leftovers, frozen pizzas, fruits and vegetables, or raw ingredients like meat? This will help you utilize the space better.

Separate Food in Bin

Acrylic bins (transparent are the best) will help you separate your food into categories and always know what belongs where. This will allow you to track inventory with a quick glance and never run out of the necessary items.

Label Everything

Labeling bags and bins that go in the freezer is the best tactic for always knowing what you have and what you should use up next. You can use pre-made stickers or make your own and write down the content and the date of each container before you freeze it.

With so many different options to choose from, buying cookware is not an easy task. This is especially true if you don’t have a lot of experience, like if you’re equipping your first kitchen. If this is the case, have you considered copper pots and pans? Here’s what you should know if you’re considering it.

They Heat Quickly

There’s no need to preheat the copper pan before you put food in it as it will heat up quickly and evenly as soon as you put it on the stove. Copper distributes the heat evenly and it will also cool down quickly after you’re finished.

They Aren’t 100% Copper

Copper pans and pots usually come lined with some other material, such as stainless steel. Some copper pots and pans are lined with tin, which works well but can melt at high temperatures. This is because copper can easily have a chemical reaction with food and that’s not something you want.

They’re Durable

Copper cookware requires gentle care, and in return, it will last you for years to come. Make sure to use wooden spoons when preparing food and don’t use too much heat. Minor damages can be easily fixed and you can even get a new protective layer of a durable material if needed.

Reusing store-bought food containers is a great small thing you can do to make your household and kitchen more eco-friendly.

Instead of using unnecessary resources like plasticware to store foods we have prepared and bought for our kitchens, the planet thanks us if we instead opt to reuse the containers that were used to package things we have consumed in the past. Here are some great ones you can try yourself.

Jelly Jars

Glass jars used as packaging for jellies and jams are a great reusable kitchen option. These medium-sized containers are perfect for storing homemade sauces, jellies, jams—and even dry goods like candy and popcorn.

Glass Bottles

Another piece of glassware you can reuse are glass bottles. These are commonly found as the containers for sparkling water, some sodas, and some alcoholic beverages. Use them as a receptacle for chilled water in your refrigerator or for homemade juices you want to store.

Plastic Tupperware

It’s become more and more common recently to find food products in the supermarket that are sold in plastic tupperware containers. While this isn’t the most eco-friendly packaging out there, you can at least reuse this tupperware to store leftovers and food you want to refrigerate instead of buying more of it.

Keeping your kitchen clean can seem like a daunting task if you only make time to tidy up once or twice per week. This method leaves all kinds of dirtiness and disorganization to pile up, making a kitchen clean seems like a gargantuan task when it’s time to do so! While it might seem like overkill, doing just a few simple things on a daily basis is a great way to ensure that your kitchen is always clean. Here are a few things that you should do every day.

Wipe Everything Down

After a day full of cooking and preparing food and drinks, your countertops and stove are probably going to have some residue on them. So, instead of waiting days for this dirtiness to accumulate and look unpresentable, just do a quick wipedown every day.

Sweep!

No one likes the feeling of stepping on a forgotten potato chip or an undiscovered sprinkling of coffee grounds on the floor, which means that it’s essential to sweep your kitchen every day. It’s no one’s favorite task, but you’ll appreciate how much cleaner your kitchen feels if you do it.

Keep Things Smelling Good

It’s easy for unpleasant odors to take over a kitchen if you aren’t careful. With this in mind, empty the garbage on a daily basis as soon as it fills up, and make time to spray the kitchen every day with a nice scent or by making a stovetop potpourri in order to keep things smelling nice.

#ad The @aldiuk taste of the world campaign got us thinking. Every year we usually take a trip to Brittany in France, this will be the first year in 11 years that we haven’t been! So, instead of getting down about it we spent a day pretending to be in France. . . Well, you can’t visit France without having crepes, so I made them for the girls after their dinner. If you want to try them yourself then here’s how: . . Pour 100g plain flour and pinch of salt into a large mixing bowl Make a well in the middle and crack 2 eggs into the centre. . . Pour about 50ml from the 300ml of semi-skimmed milk and 1 tbsp olive oil then start whisking from the centre. Once all the flour is mixed in, beat until you have a smooth, thick paste. . . Add a splash of milk and whisk to loosen the thick batter. While still whisking, pour in the remaining milk. Continue pouring and whisking until you have a batter that is the consistency of slightly thick single cream. . . Heat the pan over a medium heat and wipe it with oiled kitchen paper. . . Ladle some batter into the pan, tilting the pan to move the mixture around for a thin, even layer. Pour any excess batter into the mixing bowl, return the pan to the heat. . . Leave to cook, for about 30 secs. The pancake should turn golden underneath after about 30 secs and will be ready to turn. . . Hold the pan handle, ease a palette knife under the pancake, quickly lift and flip it over. Cook for another 30 secs before turning out onto a warm plate. Continue with the remaining batter, serving them as you cook. . . Add any topping you like, we chose banana, honey, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. . . . We got all the ingredients from our local @aldiuk #AldiTasteOfTheWorld . . #foodie #foodiesofinstagram #foodies #frenchfood #cookingwithkids #familyadventures #familytime #parentingtribe #parentinglife #frenchstyle

Simple Recipe, Simple Life

Choose recipes that kids can make quickly and easily, without a lot of ingredients or long instructions.

No Stove or Oven

Choose recipes that do not require cooking with heat. Good examples for kid-friendly recipes are cocoa energy balls, fruit smoothies, toasts and sandwiches, fruit salads, or vegetable sticks with dip.

Safety First

This is an opportunity to teach children good safety habits, along with positive eating habits. Teach them how to use the knife carefully, and how to clean after they finish cooking.

Make Room for Creativity

This is the opportunity to let your little ones shine! Nutella toast with cucumber? Popcorn with ketchup? Why not! Go wild and get cooking!
