Frankie Unsworth Captures the Essence of a Good Meal

Every Instagram newbie knows: it’s not what you eat, it’s how you photograph it. Put it this way: your photographs should be an act of love in action—well-styled, and capturing a certain mood. London-based food and prop stylist, Frankie Unsworth knows best. An expert when it comes to capturing the essence of a good meal, Unsworth is also the author of The New Art of Cooking where she teaches how its the preparation and serving details that make a difference.

“One of the inspiring parts of my job is spending time in prop houses surrounded by all the beautifully curated collections,” she relayed in an interview with Khoollect. “I love rooting through these collections with a brief in mind and bringing the vision together.” With clients as big as Penguin Random House, Twinings, BBC Worldwide, The Guardian, The Times, and Pret a Manger—you know she means business.

As it turns out, business also means travel (at least when traveling is permitted). Having lived in England, France, Italy, Australia, and Argentina, Unsworth’s sources of inspiration is rich and varied, making her style unique in its own way. “From a food perspective, all the traveling has definitely influenced me and given me a greater knowledge of different cuisines and customs,” she adds.
