Nashville might be called Music City, but there’s another reason people visit there from far and wide: the food. Indeed, the locals are usually munching on something tasty during all of those live concerts, and it’s no surprise why. The city is known for a handful of tasty dishes, and here’s what you should look for if you’re in town.

Hot Chicken

Nashville is the homeland of Hot Chicken and you won’t find it better anywhere else. Unlike your standard crispy chicken, Nashville Hot Chicken is known for its iconic recipe that includes buttermilk and a nice amount of cayenne pepper.

Biscuits

Although biscuits were known to have come from Persia, the people of Nashville adopted their own take on it. These aren’t to be confused with their London counterparts. Biscuits that you find in Nashville are less like cookies, and more like fluffy clouds of goodness that can’t be denied.

Donuts

Similar to the biscuits, the donuts in Nashville are proof that Southerners really have their baking game down pat. If you’re someone who enjoys donuts, you won’t be disappointed at all in what you find.

The Fulton

The Fulton is located in the Seaport District, with an amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge. The open-air patio is a perfect location for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The rich menu offers dishes like King Crab Lettuce Cups with Avocado and Yuzu and Longevity Noodles with Glazed Maine Lobster.

Gia

Newly opened Gia is already a go-to place in the Noho neighborhood. It has a rustic Italian vibe that will make you feel like you’re on a beach as you’re tasting Octopus with Lardo, Squid Ink Spaghetti, and Benton’s ham and bottarga.

Miss Lily

Miss Lily is a famous place with two downtown locations, in SoHo and the East Village. It opened in 2011 and has since been a popular place to stop by and grab a bite with friends. Their Jerk Ramen is famous and looks amazing when photographed! They serve brunch from 11 am to 5 pm every weekend, so don’t miss it.

One of the most common arguments we hear when it comes to “who has the best food” seems to always go back to pizza. Perhaps it’s because pizza is so delicious, or perhaps it’s because it’s so practical, but many people from all over the world swear that their city’s pizza is the best. So which U.S. cities reign supreme in the pizza department?

New York City, New York

We’d be remiss if we didn’t put New York City on this list. New Yorkers swear by their pizza and they’ve honestly got a pretty good point. Being that NYC is a melting pot of cultures, backgrounds, and cooking methods, it’s no surprise that the collective New York zeitgeist was able to formulate one of the greatest pizza cultures on the planet.

Chicago, Illinois

As great as New York’s pizza is, if you talk to someone from Chicago, they’ll laugh in your face. Chicagoans are persistent and stubborn about the idea that their pizza is actually the best that America has to offer. Known for their iconic deep-dish slice, Chicago pizzerias truly are one of the kind, and we truly recommend grabbing a slice if you’re ever in the area.

What’s not to love about free samples? Anything free is automatically better. And when you’re grocery shopping, you’re bound to get hungry going down aisle after aisle of food. That’s when free samples come in clutch! When it comes to free samples, some stores just have better ones than others. These five are the best for freebies.

Costco

Costco has everything and the same can be said about the free samples—there is tons of variety. What’s even better is they’re unlimited, so you can go back for seconds and thirds!

Trader Joe’s

In addition to the sampling station at most Trader Joe’s, which has coffee and small bites, you can try anything in the store.

Whole Foods

If you’re lucky you’ll come across free samples at the store, but if there is something you’ve been dying to try, the store policy is you can sample almost anything.

Publix

Publix and Public GreenWise Market has samples of tons of specialty items like sheet cake and guacamole and kids get a free cookie from the bakery.

Sam’s Club

For almost 40 years, Sam’s Club has been offering a sampling and demo program with free food and beverages. Members can also write reviews of what they’ve tasted.

Going out to eat is twice as fun if the place looks good in your photos, don’t you think? While great food and drinks are a must, the restaurant’s interior can be just as equally important. Here are the most “instagrammable” places in NYC where you can go for tasty food and great photos.
