Homemade salsa is an amazing condiment for so many reasons. It is full of healthy ingredients, you can make it as spicy or mild as you want, and it works so well on many different dishes.

Making it at home is wildly easy, so whether you want to just have it in the fridge or make it for a party, this recipe will be your go-to for sure.

Instructions

  1. Cut 4 vine tomatoes into quarters and put them on a baking sheet.
  2. Cut 1 onion into wedges and put it on the sheet along with 4 garlic cloves still in their skin, and as many hot peppers as you like. If you don’t want it spicy, omit the peppers, but if you do want spicy, choose your pepper wisely.
  3. Pour in a tablespoon of olive oil and put the sheet under the broiler for about 10 minutes.
  4. When the vegetables have charred nicely, add them to a food processor or blender along with the juice of one lime, salt and pepper to taste, and cilantro.
  5. Process until it’s the texture you like, and you’re done!

How To Use It

Besides chips and dip, this salsa is the perfect base to a chicken bake, put on a fried egg, or even on sandwiches as a healthy spread.
