Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lb extra-lean ground turkey
- 2 minced red bell peppers
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 diced celery stalks
- 1 minced medium onion
- 4 cloves finely minced garlic
- 1 15-oz can kidney beans
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 28 oz can whole tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon coconut sugar or honey, salt, and pepper.
Instructions:
- Begin by getting a pot and heating the oil.
- Combine the peppers, onion, garlic, and celery.
- Cook for 7 to 8 minutes and wait until the onion becomes soft and brown.
- You can now include the turkey as well. Cook until the meat is done.
- Once it is, add the oregano, chili powder, cumin, and chili flakes. Mix everything together.
- While you’re stirring make sure that you separate the meat into smaller pieces.
- You can pour in the tomatoes and wait for the turkey chili to start boiling.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes. The pot should be covered.
- To finish off, add the beans, cook for a few minutes.
- The only thing you have left is to pour the honey or coconut sugar, salt, and pepper.
