Why Intermittent Fasting Isn’t For Everyone

If you’re someone who’s done any kind of research about dieting over the last few years or so, perhaps you’ve heard of this popular trend going around called intermittent fasting. It’s pretty much what it sounds like—isolating certain parts of the day where you don’t eat a thing (although drinking water is allowed), and allowing yourself to eat as much as you want for the rest of it. It’s proven to work for some, but here’s why it’s definitely not for everyone.

It’s Too Extreme For Some

You have to know yourself. There are some people who actually thrive on the extreme nature of intermittent fasting. It requires some true discipline, but at the same time, it almost requires less discipline. Knowing that you’re not allowed to eat at all, this is a comfortable boundary for those who might be tempted to grab something to eat otherwise.

However, some may react negatively to such an extreme approach. Some peoples’ bodies need food more often, and we mean that in a scientific way. Everyone is built differently, which is why you should test out the waters and see how you feel about it before committing to it full-time. If intermittent fasting doesn’t work out for you, there’s nothing wrong with you—it’s just not the perfect fit.
