TikTok is a great source of food inspiration, but some recipes that it introduced us to over the years are downright strange. This summer gave us several pretty polarizing food trends, and here are three that you’ll either love or hate.

Mustard on Watermelon

Mustard on watermelon became such a huge hit on TikTok that even Lizzo couldn’t resist trying it. The “Truth Hurts” singer gave it her seal of approval, but some people who tried this combo weren’t so kind to it because the sweet and savory mix of mustard and watermelon can be pretty difficult to swallow.

Frozen Honey Jelly

Frozen honey jelly quickly went viral on TikTok because it’s pretty easy to pull it off. You just have to pour some honey into a squeezable bottle and let it freeze. On the other hand, you should practice portion control when consuming it, because high amounts of honey can lead to diarrhea, stomach cramping, bloating, and other adverse effects.

Grilled Sunflower Heads

Grilled sunflower heads made a huge comeback on TikTok this summer. Most people who grilled them swear by them and promise they’re super-tasty, but there’s something quite strange about seeing people dive into a whole grilled sunflower head at once.
