These Spiced Cauliflower Shawarma Pitas are So Easy to Make

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • Jerusalem spice blend, enough to fully coat the cauliflower
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sesame paste
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Toppings of choice: lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, and pickles
  • Fresh pita cut in halves
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Bring a pot of water to a rapid boil and cook the cauliflower in it for a few minutes until it is softened.
  2. Heat a nonstick pan with olive oil.
  3. Cut up the cauliflower in pieces and fully coat it in the Jerusalem spices.
  4. Fry the cauliflower until it is fully cooked and crispy.
  5. Heat your pitas on the stove or grill for a few minutes on each side.
  6. Make homemade tahini by adding equal parts of sesame paste, cold water, and lemon juice.
