There’s nothing worse than a headache or migraine that just won’t stop. Perhaps one of the hardest things about them is that the more we focus on trying to get rid of them, the more they seem to persist (and even get worse). Sometimes, the only way to get rid of a headache is to relax and this is easier done after a soothing cup of tea. Here are three teas that are known to be great for alleviating headaches.

Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea is a great option for soothing your headache. The cool nature of the peppermint flavor has a relaxing effect that tends to relieve tension, making it a very popular option.

Ginger Tea

Ginger in general is known to have plenty of healthy properties, even when it’s not served in tea. With its ability to boost our immune as well as reduce inflammation, it’s no surprise that it’s one of the best tea options when you need to fix a pesky headache.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile is also known for its powerful ability to reduce inflammation, help with anxiety, and calm the nerves. A popular tea with a truly unique taste, chamomile is an excellent option for healing your headache.

Winter is an easy time to get sick because of poor air circulation, bad eating habits, and more. To protect yourself from all these forces and more, you need to have a go-to drink to consume before you get sick as a preventative measure.

This amazing ginger tea does just that and more. Ginger is antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and more, as well as a huge digestive aid. So if you are ready to get serious about your health, get to brewing!

To make this tea, first, start out with some ginger root. If you buy organic ginger, you can actually keep the skin on. If you do not, scrape it off with the back of a spoon.

Then, chop it into slices and add it to a pot of water. Into the pot, you can also add the peel of a lemon, orange, or lime, as well as any extra spices like cloves or star anise.

Bring that all to a boil, let it cook for 15 minutes at a simmer, and then strain out the pieces.

Keep this in a jar that you can warm up for several days and stay healthy!

Turmeric is a yellow root that is dried and ground to be turned into a spice, as well as a key component to most curry powders. Using the fresh or dried form of this herb is great for keeping warm because it promotes blood circulation, thus keeping you warmer.

Ginger Tea

Just as turmeric allows for your blood to flow more freely throughout your body, ginger does the same thing. In a tea form, it is even more powerful because the hot water will keep your body hydrated and warm. You can find ginger tea in tea bags or simply use an inch of fresh ginger cut up and put into hot water.

Hot Peppers

Fresh peppers or a dried spice like chili or cayenne is great for keeping warm. The spiciness actually can make your body so warm that people sometimes sweat when they eat too much!
