Remember These Ice Cream Truck Treats?

One of my favorite childhood memories involves hearing the melodic, metallic tones of the neighborhood ice cream truck begin to sound closer and closer as the vehicle that delivered all kinds of sweet, cold treats during the hot days of summer approached my home.

There are so many different treats I consumed throughout my youth that bring back a big dose of nostalgia every time I think about them. Here are some that you might remember too.

Drumsticks

Drumsticks are one of the treats I think of most fondly from the ice cream truck. This popular treat, which can still be found all over, included a vanilla ice cream cone whose top part was covered in a hard chocolate and peanut shell.

Choco Tacos

Choco Tacos are another great pick I remember being a huge hit during my childhood. With its fun shape resembling a classic Mexican taco—this chocolate and vanilla treat was not only delicious but also fun.

Pop Ups

One of the most classic fruity treats you could find when the ice cream truck rolled up were the famous pop ups. Coming in a variety of fruit flavors, a plastic stick on the bottom of this treat “popped up” the sherbet whenever you pushed it, allowing you to savor its delicious flavors.
