Make your fall dreams come true and bake yourself this pecan pie!
Ingredients
- 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of melted, unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups of chopped pecans
- 1 (9-inch) pie crust, either homemade or store-bought
Recipe
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. If you’re using a frozen pie crust, make sure you put a cookie sheet into the oven to preheat so when you bake the pie, the heat from the baking sheet will penetrate and help it cook through.
- In a medium bowl, pour in the corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla extract. Use a whisk or rubber spatula to mix everything so it’s well combined.
- Then, add in the pecans and mix them into the liquid well.
- If using a fresh pie crust, put it into a pie dish and then pour the mixture in. If using a frozen, take out the baking sheet and put the pie crust right onto it and pour the filling in.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes. If the crust is browning too quickly, you can cover it in tin foil so it continues to cook without the direct heat on the curst.
- Once the pie is down, let it cool for about 2 hours on a cooling rack. This will complete the setting process.
- Then, top it with ice cream or eat it by itself and dig in!
