If you are a health addict, you already know that microwave popcorn is not the best thing to snack on. Numerous researches have shown that unfortunately, these bags of popcorn can contain cancerogenic ingredients. Plus, it is much cheaper to get bags with kernels and pop them yourself. But have you ever thought about the fact that you can actually do that in the microwave as well? If not, we’re here to tell you all about it.

Instructions:

First of all, you’ll need a large microwave bowl and a plate that can cover the bowl. Another great thing about this way of making popcorn is that you don’t have to use any oil. Feel free to add any spices, salt or even butter.

Put 1/4 of the kernels in the microwave-safe bowl and cover it with the plate. You can use almost any plate as long as it covers the bowl. Don’t worry if there is a gap in between, that will only be more helpful. The kernels are ready for the microwave. The cooking time will depend on several factors, including the specifications of your microwave. One of the safest ways to go is set the timer for five minutes, and add more if needed.
