Sausage and peppers are such a great hearty combination, and cooking them takes no time at all!
Ingredients:
- 4-6 Italian sausage links of the variety of your choice
- 1 yellow, orange, or red bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 yellow onion
- 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Start by de-seeding the bell peppers and cut them into long strips.
- Peel and cut the onion in half and then chop into half-moons.
- Heat up a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat and add in 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot, drop in the onions, season them with salt, and don’t stir them for 1 minute. Then, stirring occasionally, cook them until they’re translucent. Once they’re at that stage, add in the peppers and season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- After 5 minutes, make space for the sausages, add more oil if necessary, and let them sear for a few minutes on each side. Cover them with a lid and turn the heat down to medium, or put them in the oven to finish cooking at 400 F for 15 minutes.
- Serve from the pan by themselves, with rice, or rolls to make a sandwich and enjoy!
