If You’ve Never Made Sausage and Peppers, You’re Missing Out on a Super Easy Dinner Item!

Sausage and peppers are such a great hearty combination, and cooking them takes no time at all!

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 Italian sausage links of the variety of your choice
  • 1 yellow, orange, or red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow onion 
  • 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil 
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Start by de-seeding the bell peppers and cut them into long strips. 
  2. Peel and cut the onion in half and then chop into half-moons.
  3. Heat up a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat and add in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. 
  4. Once the oil is hot, drop in the onions, season them with salt, and don’t stir them for 1 minute. Then, stirring occasionally, cook them until they’re translucent. Once they’re at that stage, add in the peppers and season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. 
  5. After 5 minutes, make space for the sausages, add more oil if necessary, and let them sear for a few minutes on each side. Cover them with a lid and turn the heat down to medium, or put them in the oven to finish cooking at 400 F for 15 minutes. 
  6. Serve from the pan by themselves, with rice, or rolls to make a sandwich and enjoy!
