According to Hall, she learned the secret to the “perfect egg salad” from fellow chef Nancy Silverton. And it couldn’t be simpler. You only need to tear up the egg whites and crumble the egg yolk before mixing it with mayonnaise. This quick step should help you achieve a “much more creamier egg salad.”

Carla Hall’s Recipe for Perfect Egg Salad

Hall starts her recipe by combining ¼ cup of mayo with two teaspoons of mustard, two teaspoons of finely chopped sweet onion, and two teaspoons of finely chopped chives in a bowl. She then adds salt and pepper before mixing everything together.

Next, Hall adds six boiled eggs, having previously used Silverton’s tip, and folds them into the mayo mixture. She places sliced cucumbers and egg salad between two pieces of toasted bread. The result is the best-looking egg salad sandwich we’ve seen in a while.
