Cloud bread is a peculiar new culinary invention that has been trending the internet for the last few months. It is a gluten-free bread that can be served sweet or savory, and often with bright rainbow colors.

Here are the basics steps, so you can try making cloud bread yourself. Once you have mastered this recipe, you can get a bit more creative with colors and flavors.

Prepare Batter

To prepare the batter, you will need to beat the three egg whites, the sugar and the corn starch into a mixing bowl. Add each ingredient one at a time. If you want food dye or extracts like chocolate or vanilla, you should also add them at this point.

Beat and Bake the Batter

The batter is ready when the mixture is thick and fluffy. It should form soft peaks before you continue. When the batter’s ready, arrange it on a greased baking tray in the form of a loaf. Bake for 25 minutes in the oven at 300°F.

Serve

After 25 minutes, take the loaf out and make sure it’s completely cool before removing it from the pan. Sprinkle with nuts or seeds and serve with cottage cheese for a tasty treat.

Whether you feel sluggish or need something to eat pre- or post-work out, sometimes you don’t have the time or energy to make an elaborate meal. If you are a vegetarian, this can be an even more difficult task, because you can’t eat any meat products.

Fret not! There are still many ways for you to get in protein quickly by following these simple tips and recipes.

Hard Boiled Eggs

Eating an egg is a great source of protein, and if you hard boil them, you don’t have to add any fat or oil to cook them. Boil as many as you want at a time and keep them in your refrigerator, so you can quickly pull them out and peel them whenever you need a quick boost.

Hummus

Hummus is made of chickpeas and tahini, which are both sources of plant-based protein. Spread a couple tablespoons on some rice cakes, much of which only has 30 calories per cake, and you have a low calorie but incredibly high protein snack!

Flax Seeds

Flax seeds are a great source of plant-based protein, as long as you grind them up so they are easier to digest. Sprinkle some on top of a banana, your favorite toast, or really just about anything to transform it into a protein-packed snack.
