Making the perfect batch of guacamole is easier said than done, even for those who’ve done it countless times before. The reason for this is that no two avocados are the same, and thus each guacamole mixture requires a unique approach and proper care. There are many things to consider when preparing guac, from the spices to the chopped-up cherry tomatoes you may choose to add. But here’s one crucial factor that you must certainly pay close attention to: the texture.

The Most Important Thing

In our humble opinion, texture is the most important thing when it comes to making a guacamole dish. You want your guacamole to be smooth but not runny, and clumpy but not hard. It truly is a delicate balance that can make or break your guac.

How to Ensure the Texture is Perfect

The best way to make sure the texture of your guacamole is exactly the way you want it is to focus on the ripeness of the avocado itself. It seems like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many people let avocados get brown before taking advantage of them when they’re at an optimal mixing capacity. If you time it perfectly, your job will be that much easier once you actually mash it up.

Guacamole is a popular avocado dip that’s incredibly rich, creamy, and delicious, and can be served with a variety of foods. But if you’re looking for ways to elevate this cool dip, here are a few delicious foods that will make your guacamole even more enjoyable.

Pesto

Pesto is a healthy, decadent Italian sauce that you can easily use to make guacamole even more irresistible. Both classic basil pesto, as well as, arugula or kale pesto will work well when mixed in guacamole.

Corn

Adding corn to guacamole is an easy and tasty way to eat this delicious veggie more often. Corn will also add plenty of nutrients and color to your favorite dip.

Nuts

Peanuts, pecans, walnuts, or pistachios are all excellent add-ins for guacamole that will make this dip even more nutritious and extra crunchy. Everyone who loves deep nutty flavors should definitely try making guacamole with nuts.

Fruit

Don’t miss out on adding your favorite fruits to guacamole, especially since many fruits pair well with avocado. Berries, pineapple, peaches, or watermelon are just some of the fruits that would make an excellent add-in for guacamole.

When the mercury begins to dip and cooler days set in, baked potatoes are one of my favorite side dishes to enjoy alongside dinner. While classically topped with butter and/or sour cream, there are many different spins you can put on this favorite meal.

Check out these topping ideas for a delicious baked potato treat.

Sautéed Mushrooms

Sautéing mushrooms and adding them on top of a baked potato along with another ingredient like sour cream or onions is a tasty option for this side dish. I recommend sautéing them in balsamic vinegar with herbs and spices to give them a delectable flavor.

Guacamole

If you’re having a Mexican-themed dinner, why not try serving up baked potatoes topped with guacamole? This Mexican favorite is a great idea for topping a baked potato with—especially when you use toppings like shredded cheese as well.

Bacon and Egg

A baked potato for breakfast?! That’s right, as topping this tuber with bacon and a sunny-side up egg or two can be a surprisingly great choice for breakfast. The runny egg yolks and crispiness of the bacon are great complements to the potato.

Is there a person out there who doesn’t love guacamole? Probably not. So we all need that ideal recipe, that presents the perfect balance of ingredients. There is a number of variations online, but this guacamole recipe is by far my favorite.

  1. All you need is 3 ripe Haas avocados, you can literally get anywhere. Put it in a bowl and start mashing.
  2. The following step includes one juiced lime, that goes straight to the bowl with the avocado.

3. Seasoning is key. Add 1 teaspoon of freshly chopped cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon coriander.

4. Next, include a freshly and finely chopped onion. It should be medium sized. Some people prefer white onions, while others love the red ones. Make it your choice.

5. When it comes to garlic, you can always decide to add a dash, to improve the taste. If you are not a garlic fan, you can always stay away from it.

6. Add 2 Roma tomatoes and 1 small jalapeno pepper.

With six simple steps, the perfect guacamole recipe is done. You can always experiment, and mix the steps. Also feel free to add more spice or more of what makes you happy. Grab the tortilla chips, and you’ve got yourself a snack.
