In this toasty summer, you might be wondering what drink recipes you can make that will quench your thirst and refresh you! We personally love making shandies, and mixing one with grapefruit juice can be a great way to get the most out of this low-alcohol beer cocktail that will keep you cool and refreshed. Here’s how to make them!

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts pilsner beer
  • 1 part fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
  • Grapefruit slices (for garnish)
  • Tall pilsner glass

Instructions:

Start off by choosing a quality pilsner beer for the recipe. You’ll want to pick one of these beers since they have a light, non-hoppy body and a bit of sweetness that will counteract the bitterness of the grapefruit juice.

Pour your beer into a pitcher and then squeeze the grapefruit juice that you’ll need from a fresh, ripe grapefruit. Add the juice to the pitcher along with the beer and stir until they are completely mixed. Place in your refrigerator to chill to around 35-38 degrees F.

Pour into a tall pilsner glass and serve ice-cold! Enjoy!

  • 1 part cinnamon schnapps
  • 1 part ginger ale
  • Ice, to taste

Café bombóns are one of the most popular coffee drinks you’ll find in Spain. This sweet coffee treat, which hails from the Mediterranean coastal city of Valencia, is a great dessert substitute at the end of a meal if you’re looking for a caffeine kick along with your sugar!

Would you like to try making this fun drink at home? Here’s how to do it!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz espresso coffee
  • 2 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 oz whipped cream
  • Cocoa powder (optional)

Instructions

Start off by adding two ounces of sweetened condensed milk to a short, wide glass.

Once you’ve done this, head to your espresso maker and make about 4 ounces of espresso coffee in the glass containing the sweetened condensed milk. The coffee will rest on top of the condensed milk, creating two distinct layers.

After the espresso has been brewed, add an ounce or so of whipped cream to make another layer on top of the coffee.

Finish it off by dusting cocoa powder on top of the whipped cream, if you would like. Drink hot and enjoy!

Have you ever tried a margarita before? This classic Mexican cocktail is a favorite for many, combining the sweetness of agave syrup with the tart flavors of limes and tequila.

Putting a new twist on this favorite drink is the beergarita—a cocktail which adds beer to the equation to make a slightly less alcoholic version with the backbone of a light Mexican beer. Let’s learn how to make it!

Ingredients

  • 4 12-oz bottles Mexican lager (Corona and Pacifico are my two go-to options)
  • 2 cans (12 oz) frozen limeade, defrosted
  • 400 ml silver tequila
  • Limes, for garnish
  • Salt, for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

Start off by combining the bottles of Mexican lager along with the defrosted frozen limeade in a large pitcher. Stir thoroughly to combine.

Next, open up your silver tequila and measure out 400 milliliters. Begin by adding about half of the tequila, and then try the mixture. It will be strong enough for some, but not for others. Add as much tequila as you feel comfortable with adding to make the mix stronger up to the 400 ml that you have measured out.

Place this mix inside of your refrigerator, covered, to chill for a couple of hours. When it’s cold and ready to serve, be sure to serve it with generous portions of ice and garnished with lime slices and salt on its rim.

Enjoy your beergarita!
