]]>Some of us will remember at this point the delicious strawberries we ate during the summer. If by any chance you kept some leftover strawberries in the freezer—you are very lucky. Indeed, the perfect addition to such a sunny fall afternoon is a tall, chilled glass of strawberry margarita.
A cup of frozen strawberries
Ice
1-2 tablespoons sugar
1 serving of excellent tequila
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until everything is combined and ground fully. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary or thyme sprig, or some fresh basil flowers. Drink immediately.
Strawberries can be replaced with almost any summer fruit—such as raspberries, blueberries, sweet cherries, etc. The tequila can be replaced with high quality vodka.
If the fruits are very sweet, you can reduce the sugar a bit, or just add 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice for some refreshing sourness.

]]>While you might not be at a Brazilian party while being stuck wherever you live, there are plenty of cocktails from Brazil that you can either make at home or find on bar/restaurant menus. Here are some of the best ones that you should seek out!
The Caipirinha is a Brazilian classic, which has become popular and well-known all around the world. This mixture of a liquor made from sugar cane known as cachaça, sugar, and lime slices makes a sweet, sour, and potent drink that is completely irresistible.
Leite de Onça is a cocktail that also contains the famous cachaça—but it is completely different when compared with a Caipirinha. This drink combines cachaça with cocoa liqueur, milk, and condensed milk to make a cocktail that tastes strangely like a chocolate milkshake!
Finally, if you’re looking for Brazil’s answer to sangria—an Espanhola is for you. Red, dry wine is blended with sweetened condensed milk and pineapple chunks in a blender or food processor, resulting in a fruity and sweet drink that resembles a fruit smoothie. Yum!

]]>Putting a new twist on this favorite drink is the beergarita—a cocktail which adds beer to the equation to make a slightly less alcoholic version with the backbone of a light Mexican beer. Let’s learn how to make it!
Start off by combining the bottles of Mexican lager along with the defrosted frozen limeade in a large pitcher. Stir thoroughly to combine.
Next, open up your silver tequila and measure out 400 milliliters. Begin by adding about half of the tequila, and then try the mixture. It will be strong enough for some, but not for others. Add as much tequila as you feel comfortable with adding to make the mix stronger up to the 400 ml that you have measured out.
Place this mix inside of your refrigerator, covered, to chill for a couple of hours. When it’s cold and ready to serve, be sure to serve it with generous portions of ice and garnished with lime slices and salt on its rim.
Enjoy your beergarita!

]]>According to Johansen, there’s no such thing as a gendered drink, and both men and women can enjoy her cocktails depending on their particular taste. “I grew up in Norway and we didn’t have these gendered ideas of what an ‘appropriate’ drink for a woman was,” she explained in an interview with Khoollect. “If you wanted a beer, you drank a beer. If you wanted a whisky, you drank a whisky. Both my parents love whisky (my mother’s more of a bourbon drinker, but she’s a fan of a whisky sour with scotch) and over the years I just tried whatever they had.”
A whiskey-gal herself, her relaxed approach to both cooking and drinking has attracted an impressive following. With some 13k followers on Instagram and pieces published on esteemed publications like The Times, Sunday Times, and Marie Claire, Johansen clearly knows what she’s doing.
