Most children will turn their noses up at the offering of dark chocolate, but if you’re drinking something sweet and rich like port or brandy, a good quality dark chocolate can accompany this beautifully. Seek out bars with a cocoa content of 60% or higher, and make sure that cocoa or cocoa butter is the first ingredient, rather than sugar.

]]>And what is a better fit for such a winter pass-time than a hot cup of hot chocolate? Delicious, chocolatey, deep, and comforting, hot chocolate is not only a pleasant childhood memory but a legitimate exciting drink to end the day with.
There are many ways to make hot chocolate. Some people use real chocolate, some use excellent cocoa powder and sugar, and some simply buy ready-to-use instant chocolate powder and add milk. Here is one recipe we especially like.
Boil the milk and sweet cream. After boiling, melt the chocolate into the mixture and filter.
Place marshmallows and chocolate cubes in the bottom of the cup, pour the hot chocolate over them, and garnish with whipped cream.
When your hot chocolate is all done, you can add an infinite number of toppings such as espresso, white chocolate, nougat and Nutella, cinnamon, or nutmeg, and some even add salt!

3 packs of excellent and vegan dark chocolate
1 can of coconut milk (20% fat or more)
1 tablespoon Agave or date syrup
Cinnamon (optional)
Spicy chili powder to taste (optional)
Coating
2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder or ground coconut or crushed nuts
In a small pot, melt all the truffle ingredients (without the coating ingredients).
Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and refrigerate for at least three hours to allow the mixture to fully set.
Remove the mixture from the refrigerator, and using slightly moist hands, form small balls about the size of a strawberry. Coat the balls with coconut, cocoa, or nuts.
The prepared truffles can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer. To eat, take them out of the freezer 10 minutes before serving.
The truffles will go great with a cup of tea, hot chocolate, coffee, or a glass of sweet dessert wine.
