Check Out These Sugar Cookies for a Healthy Treat

When your energy dips, a cookie can provide a much-needed pick me up. Check out this recipe for low-sugar cookies which taste great, take no time to make, and are high in fiber and protein. Baked goods don’t always have to be unhealthy, and this recipe proves that you can combine health with flavor.

Ingredients (to make 12):

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 2/3 cup of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of raisins or alternative dried fruit 
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Combine the baking powder and the flour.
  2. Knead the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Whisk in the eggs and milk.
  4. Stir in the cinnamon, raisins, and honey. 
  5. Knead into a dough, roll out, and cut into biscuits.
  6. Place on a greased and lined baking tray and bake at 320 degrees for 20 minutes.
