Looking for a delicious dessert that doesn’t require you to turn on your oven? In that case, banoffee pie is just the thing you need. This famous British dessert combines bananas, whipped cream, and caramel to create a sweet perfection. It is simple to make, doesn’t require baking, and is so delicious that you won’t be able to stop at having just one slice.

How to Make Banoffee Pie

There are plenty of banoffee pie recipes out there, each offering a different way to achieve the same result. However, the one we liked the most came from a professional chef and popular TikTok food creator Andy Hearnden.

Hearnden starts by boiling two tins of condensed milk for three hours and then leaving them to cool off in order to create caramel. Alternatively, you can combine condensed milk with butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and stir on low heat until the ingredients combine.

Next, you need to make a crust for your banoffee pie. Place 1 pound of digestive cookies (or Graham crackers) in a food processor and blend until you achieve “sand consistency.” Combine with 7 ounces of melted butter and place in a tart pan while pressing at the bottom and against the edges until you get a flat surface. Chill for one to two hours.

After your base is chilled, pour in the caramel on it and spread evenly. Slice four bananas and layer them on the caramel. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate.

You can leave the banoffee pie for a few hours in the fridge to completely set or dig in immediately. It is up to you.

@andy_cooks

Banoffee Pie ? Ingredients: – 200g (7 oz) butter – 450g (1 lb) digestive biscuits – 2 tins condensed milk – 4 bananas, sliced – 600ml (2.5 cups) cream – 2 tbsp icing sugar – chocolate, to garnish Method: 1. To make the caramel, boil the tins of condensed milk for 3 hours, then allow to cool completely. I left it overnight. 2. To make the base, place the digestive biscuits into a food processor and blend until they reach a sandy consistency. Next, pour in the melted butter and mix until well incorporated. 3. Turn out into a 26cm (10-inch) fluted tart pan and press evenly onto all sides. Use a flat-bottomed glass to get the base really flat. Place this into the fridge to chill for 1-2 hours. 4. Pour in the cooled caramel and spread it evenly across the base. Then, layer it with the sliced bananas. 5. Whip the cream with the icing sugar and then top the pie with it. 6. Garnish with some finely grated chocolate. 7. Slice and enjoy! #baking #cooking #recipe #foryou #pie #viralvideos

Many people reach for instant noodles when looking for a quick and easy dish, but how much do you actually know about them? Despite being the ultimate comfort food, instant noodles aren’t that healthy, and here are some of their properties worth keeping in mind if you’re eating them on a regular basis.

Sodium Content

One of the biggest downsides of instant noodles is their high sodium content. Just like many other packaged foods, they contain more salt than they should so they’re best eaten in moderation.

Artificial Flavorings

In addition to containing excess salt, instant noodles are often packed with artificial flavorings and preservatives, such as monosodium glutamate aka MSG.

Nutritional Content

Foods rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber should be an essential part of your diet, but instant noodles don’t fall under this category and have a pretty low nutritional content.

High in Fat

Instant noodles are usually fried in unhealthy oils, and this can lead to their high fat content.

Bad Habits

There’s nothing bad about eating instant noodles from time to time but think twice before making them a regular part of your diet. According to several studies, regular consumption is linked to a poor overall diet, so it’s best to avoid eating them on a regular basis.

For many people, the hot dogs are perfect as they are. It doesn’t get better than a sausage snuggled inside of a bun and topped with your favorite condiments. But what if we told you that hot dogs can get even better if you swap a regular hot dog bun with a croissant?

While it may sound controversial, using a croissant as a hot dog bun is a game changer. Juicy grilled or boiled sausage paired with crispy, buttery, and flaky pastry will surprise your taste buds and leave them asking for more.

Wondering how to try this unusual but delicious pairing? Here are two simple methods.

Store-Bought Croissant

If you want to try out this variation without putting too much effort into it, get a store-bought croissant. Simply slice it open like you would slice a hot dog bun and place a grilled or boiled sausage inside. Top with mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, or other condiments of your choosing, and dig in. You can make it even tastier by warming up the croissant before assembling the hot dog.

Croissant Dough

For a homemade version of croissant hot dog, you can use croissant dough. Simply wrap it up around the sausage and bake according to packaging instructions. This will result in a more decadent version of pigs in a blanket and offers you more opportunity to experiment with additions like cheese.

Throwing away onion peels seems like the right thing to do. After all, they are tasteless and only protects the onion’s inner layers, right? Well, as it turns out, there is more to onion peels than you might guess.

Onion peels are packed with fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins and can be used in a number of creative ways.

Boost the Flavor and Nutrition of Stews and Soups

Onion peels work great with stews and soups, boosting the flavor and nutritional value of the dish. You can make a broth by boiling the onion peels in water for approximately one hour or add them directly to soup or stew during cooking. Just make sure to strain them after if you opt for the latter method.

Make Onion Peel Tea

Onion peel can also be used to make tea. Boil the onion peels in water for 10 to 20 minutes, and then let them sit for an additional 20 minutes. Strain the onion peel and add sweetener. Onion peel tea is beneficial for hair and skin while also calming a sore throat.

Make Homemade Onion Powder

Onion peels can be used to make homemade onion powder. Wash the onion peels thoroughly and dry them out in a dehydrator or in an oven using the lowest setting. After they are thoroughly dried out, grind them in a food processor or a blender. Store in an airtight container and season all your favorite meals that could use some onion flavoring.

Eggnog is one of the first drinks that come to mind when someone mentions Christmas, and we’re here to help you make it even more festive this holiday season. Made with milk, cream, sugar, and raw eggs, eggnog isn’t exactly the healthiest drink on the market, but our brief guide will help you fix that problem.

Egg Dilemma

One of the reasons why so many people avoid eggnog is the fact that raw eggs are one of its main ingredients. Since they can be infected with salmonella, raw eggs are often seen as a safety hazard, and many eggnog lovers try to avoid this problem by using pasteurized liquid eggs or by pre-cooking their egg mixture beforehand.

Choice of Sweeteners

Most people turn to sugar when trying to make their eggnog extra sweet, but this isn’t doing your drink any favors. You can always turn to natural sweeteners of stevia instead, or use seasonal spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger to boost the flavor of your eggnog without relying on sugar.

Vegan Milk

Dairy milk is another must-have eggnog ingredient, but there are many plant-based alternatives you can use instead. Vegan milk varieties, such as oat and almond milk, experienced a huge boom in recent years and they contain fewer calories and fat than regular milk.

The sizzle of bacon in the morning is music to many ears, but what if we told you there are ways to make your favorite breakfast meat even better? So go ahead and get your eggs ready because the side of irresistible bacon is coming right up!

Crispy and Even

Baking bacon in the oven provides even heat distribution, resulting in perfectly crisp slices. To achieve this, preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the bacon strips in a single layer and bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on your desired crispness. Once done, drain on paper towels.

The Flavor Boost

Adding complementary flavors enhances bacon’s natural taste. It gives a more complex and satisfying experience to the bite. Try combinations like maple syrup and black pepper, brown sugar and cayenne pepper, or honey and smoked paprika. To apply these flavor boosters, simply sprinkle or brush them on the bacon before cooking.

The Weave Technique

Weaving bacon creates an interesting texture and makes for an impressive presentation. To create a bacon weave, start by making a lattice pattern with bacon strips on a baking sheet. Once your weave is complete, bake it in a preheated 400°F oven for 20-25 minutes.

If you’ve just gotten home from a long day at the office, then you probably don’t feel like slaving away in the kitchen. Fortunately, you don’t have to. Here are some quick and easy recipes that you can prepare using just your microwave.

Mac & Cheese

Place your macaroni in a large bowl and grate some cheese over it. Then, pour a generous amount of cooking liquid into the mix. Place some cling wrap over the bowl and poke holes in it before placing it in the microwave. Continue to microwave the bowl until the pasta is cooked.

Cauliflower Cheese

Cut one large cauliflower into bite-sized pieces. Place the pieces in a microwave-friendly bowl and add 150 grams of cheddar cheese. Drizzle it with some hot English mustard, whole milk, and thyme leaves before microwaving for eight minutes.

Scrambled Eggs

Crack two eggs and use a fork to mix them. Add two tablespoons of milk before sprinkling some salt over the mixture. Warm the eggs in the microwave for 30 seconds before removing them, beating them again, and warming them further. Once ready, put them on some toast.
