Apple Pops are the Perfect Fall Treat

Fall is almost here and with the cooler weather comes cozy sweaters, colorful leaves, and apple season! While apple pies and apple ciders are popular ways to make use of the delicious fruit, there are tons of other fun ways to use apples and one of our favorites happens to be apple pops. Apple pops are like candy apples, but they’re easier to eat as you don’t have to cut into them. This recipe makes 10 pops and here’s how to make this fall treat.

Ingredients:

• 3-4 large apples
• 2 cups caramel for apple dipping
• 1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted
• 10 wooden ice pop sticks
• 1/4 cup peanuts, chopped
• 1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the apples and cut them into 1/2 inch-thick slices, making sure to cut into the same direction as the core to keep the apple shape. For each apple, you should get between two to four apple-shaped slices.
  2. With a butter knife, puncture a small slit in the bottom center of each slice and then insert a wooden ice pop stick. Use a paper towel to get rid of any excess juices. Then, transfer them to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Melt the caramel following the instructions on the packaging.
  4. Dip each of the apples in the caramel, allowing them to fully coat and letting the excess caramel drip back into the pan.
  5. Put the apples on the parchment-lined baking sheet and drizzle with chocolate.
  6. Top with peanuts or sprinkles and then put the baking sheet in the refrigerator, allowing the chocolate to firm up, for about 10 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!
