When it comes to restaurant etiquette, many people seem to have their own opinions regarding what constitutes proper behavior. For instance, when it comes to the idea of sending food back when it doesn’t meet your expectations, people seem to be pretty split down the middle. Some believe that it’s rude to do so, while others feel that it’s their right as a customer to do so. Interestingly enough, there’s a place in the middle that seems the most correct.

Doing So Politely

It seems as though customers who send food back often do so in a way that’s rude and entitled. This is definitely the wrong way to approach it. And yet, there is something to be said about the customer being always right. After all, if the restaurant messed up a dish, they should fix it.

So while a customer should be allowed to send food back, they should go out of their way to do so in a polite manner. Regardless of how upset the customer is, they should be kind to the waiting staff, because chances are the waiting staff had nothing to do with the preparation of the food. Furthermore, the kitchen staff likely didn’t mess up the customer’s order intentionally, so there’s no need to get sassy when asking for one’s food back.

Rio de Janeiro is a fantastic global city full of sights to see and things to do. Its gastronomic scene is one of its main attractions, as this Brazilian megalopolis is the home of a mix of both world-class restaurants and enticing street food. One of the best restaurants that you absolutely must visit while in Rio is the Plage Cafe, one of the world’s most unique places to eat brunch.

Located inside the Parque Lage at the foot of the Corcovado mountain in the city’s Jardim Botanico neighborhood, this is one of the only places you’ll be able to eat brunch inside of a glorious mansion.

The Plage Cafe is mostly known for its excellent brunch, although it does feature some lunch plates as well. Eggs benedict, fresh Brazilian fruit juices, and house specialties such as their own specialty omelettes and hamburgers are some of the other highlights that can be found here.

Anyone who is looking for a stunning and unique brunch or lunch experience should add the Plage Cafe to their list of places to eat in Rio. Happy eating!

Dog lovers rejoice—there is a new craft beer bar where canine fans can enjoy a pint of delicious beer, a wide variety of upscale pub food, and a visit with all kinds of furry friends all at once. What’s this place? Let’s go to Oregon to find out!

Fido’s is a one-of-a-kind bar located in the Portland suburb of Tigard in the United States, offering diners and drinkers the opportunity to hang out with adoptable pooches as they enjoy their order.

The 40 beers on tap are plenty of reason enough to visit, but the bar’s core mission makes it a huge ally in the fight for animal well-being.

The bar’s motto of “Eat. Drink. Adopt.” explains their mission perfectly—they want people to come in and not only enjoy their time with the dogs that are at the bar, but also to decide to adopt them in order to reduce the population of homeless pups.

Fido’s partnership with Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals ensures that there are always adoptable dogs making the rounds at the bar. Demand can be high, so the bar recommends calling ahead to ensure a slot to spend time with the adoptable dogs.

If you ever find yourself in Oregon, be sure to make time in your schedule to stop by this heart-warming and unique spot.

Extreme eating challenges have become a big food trend in recent years. Some restaurants offer clients the chance to attempt to eat huge amounts of food in exchange for fame and glory, offering free meals and other memorabilia to those who complete the challenge successfully.

One of the most famous food challenges in the United States is held at The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas, where diners are challenged to eat an entire meal centered around a 72-ounce steak in less than an hour.

Diners who complete the challenge successfully are given their meal for free, and are given a commemorative t-shirt and have their picture taken to remember their feat!

The entire meal that contestants must eat includes a 72-ounce steak, a shrimp cocktail, a baked potato, a salad, and a roll. That’s an absolutely gargantuan amount of food for anyone to eat in a week, let alone in less than one hour!

The Big Texan Steak Ranch now even offers a live stream of all contestants on their website that attempt the challenge. Friends and family can follow your attempt to make history even if they can’t join you at the restaurant!

So, what do you think? Could you defeat the 72-ounce steak challenge?

Palma de Mallorca is the capital city of the island Mallorca. This Spanish seaside oasis has some of the most beautiful beaches you’ll ever see, and some of the best food you’ll ever taste. Because of its location on the Mediterranean, Palma de Mallorca’s seafood is super fresh, but there is also booming agriculture. Whether you want traditional food native to the island or a delicious take on the other cuisines of the world, Palma has a lot to offer.

One of the best ways to experience the fresh cuisine of Palma is by going to Mercado Gastronomico San JuanPalma’s artisan food market. This market has tons of vendors serving dishes from all over the world, including Spain, Italy, and Thailand. One of the coolest things about the market is that there are many stands where they grill fish or meat right in front of your eyes!

If you’re near the Palma beach, head to Cafe La Lonja. This cafe has delicious Spanish dishes like tortilla Espanola and grilled padron peppers. While you enjoy your food you also will have a view of a beautiful gorgeous gothic building that was once a merchants market.

Nashville, Tennessee is known for many things, including being a huge hub for the nation’s music scene (including but certainly not limited to country tunes), the black and gold Vanderbilt University Commodores, and of course, good old southern cooking.
