Coffee lovers or those who know them are sure to be aware of several different types of contraptions that can be used to make this magical drink.

Any serious coffee aficionado probably has at least one of the following in his or her home, but in order to be a real coffee buff, you should really have all three! Here they are, and here’s why you should invest in each of them.

Moka Pot

A Moka Pot, the most common coffee-making device in much of Europe and Latin America, provides a quick and easy espresso option requiring little talent or effort. While it isn’t quite as strong as that coming from a “real” espresso machine, a Moka pot is versatile and a great option.

Espresso Machine

Well, if you really want to step up your coffee game and use a device that will allow you to make strong, flavorful coffee and also create all kinds of drinks, this is your best bet. Most come with a built-in milk steamer, allowing you to craft concoctions like lattes and cappuccinos.

French Press

French presses are another wonderful coffee-making option, as they require only hot water and coffee grounds. This silky, slightly weaker coffee is a great option if you’re wanting a full cup of joe in the morning without losing any flavor.

More and more coffee lovers have started to experiment with moka pots these days. This classic coffee-making device, which has been popular in countries such as Italy, Spain, and Portugal for decades, is now having its value recognized by people all over the globe.

If you are looking to start making coffee using this classic method, here are some keys for making the best-tasting moka pot coffee possible.

Start off With Warm Water

One key to making good moka pot coffee is to put warm water into the water reservoir when brewing the coffee. Cold water will take too long to heat up, allowing for the possibility of the coffee grounds to burn and taste bad.

Don’t Heat at Maximum Temperature

Instead of turning your stove onto its highest possible temperature to make your moka pot coffee, and do it fast, try medium-high heat. Once again, this is key in avoiding the possibility of the coffee grounds burning and the water spraying out of the moka pot uncontrollably.

Avoid Letting the Coffee Boil

Make sure to keep an eye on your moka pot after the coffee is finished brewing. If you allow it to sit for too long in the device’s upper chamber, it may begin to boil, rendering it extremely unpalatable.
