Isn’t butter wonderful? While this dairy product might not be the healthiest food, it sure is good from time to time as a flavor enhancer.

While normal butter is delicious, combining it with herbs and garlic to make an even tastier version of this treat is a great idea. It works especially great when dabbed on top of a nice steak. Here’s how to make it!

Ingredients

  • One 4-oz stick of regular, salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  • The first thing you will want to do is allow your stick of butter to sit out at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes, or until it becomes soft and malleable.
  • Once you have done this, take a sharp knife and cut tiny pieces of fresh basil, thyme, and parsley. Set aside along with your half teaspoon of lemon zest and the garlic butter.
  • Place the butter into a bowl, and add the lemon zest and herbs. Mash together and mix with a fork until all of the ingredients are evenly blended together.
  • Once you’ve done this, place the garlic herb butter on a piece of wax paper and form into the shape of a stick using the wax paper. Place in the refrigerator and allow to harden and set.
  • After doing this, your garlic herb butter is prepared and ready to use!
