Lemon is one of the most popular citrus fruits on the market, and its versatility knows no bounds. From lemonades and cocktails to salad dressings and soups, lemon can take pretty much any food and drink to the next level, but it also comes with many creative uses that you probably aren’t aware of.

Perfectly Boiled Eggs

If you don’t like boiling eggs because they tend to crack and aren’t easy to peel off, don’t disappear. Before boiling your eggs, brush their eggshells with some lemon juice to make the process easier.

Leafy Greens

Looking for a way to refresh your leafy greens? A few drops of lemon will get you there! Just soak your leafy greens in cold water with some lemon juice and refrigerate them for an hour.

Slow Down Browning

Many fruits tend to brown pretty quickly, including avocados, apples, and bananas, but you can use some lemon juice to slow down the oxidation process and keep them fresh for longer.

Sticky Rice

Have you ever dealt with sticky and clumpy rice and wondered how you could solve this problem. Add a few squeezes of lemon to your rice before cooking it, and you’re good to go.

Using up as much of the food we have is always important, but it seems like it’s even more important right now. When you’re not sure if you’re going to be able to run to the store today, using what you have becomes crucial. That’s why we bring you this amazing tip that can become your good habit.

Before you juice a lemon, take a zester and use it to get the lemon zest that you can save in a zip-lock bag in the freezer. Recipes always call for it and you’ll feel like a master chef when you simply whip it out from the freezer instead of having to zest a whole new lemon that you may not even plan to juice. It’s much faster, too: it will take you less than a minute to get the bag out of the freezer and take out as much as you need before putting the bag back. By the time you’re done, you wouldn’t have even taken out your zester from the drawer!
