]]>Never underestimate the power herbs can bring to a dish, especially rice. Depending on what kind of cuisine you’ll be enjoying, you can add cilantro for a Latin-inspired dish, mint, and dill for something Mediterranean, or parsley and rosemary for Italian. The important thing is to use fresh herbs to bring an added brightness and pop of flavor to a normally boring dish.
One thing people can’t seem to get enough is Mexican style rice. Red rice is so delicious and satisfying from the bold creamy tomato taste and all the other aromatics. To make this dish, fry the rice, onions, and garlic together for a few minutes. Add broth, tomato paste, a hot pepper and a sprig of cilantro and cook as normal. If you don’t want it super spicy, you can use a regular pepper instead.
General Rule: If you find your rice is coming too bland, make sure you salt it enough! Also, use broth whenever you can, it gives it an even deeper flavor.
