Ingredients:

  • 1/4 sugar ginger sliced into 1/8″ coins
  • 1/4 pound sugar
  • 5 ounces ginger ale
  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • 5 candied gingers
  • Lime wheel
  • Toothpick

Instructions:

  1. Place ginger in a medium-sized pan and pour enough water to cover the water. Over medium to high heat, allow the ginger to simmer for about 35 minutes, until tender.
  2. Toss sugar in a pan that equals the amount of ginger. Bring the ginger to a boil before reducing the heat and stir frequently for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Once the sugar crystallizes on the ginger, it’s time to allow the ginger to cool. Then, place it in the fridge.
  4. Fill a rocks glass with ice before adding whiskey and ginger ale. Place a lime wheel on the rim and place the ginger pieces on a toothpick before plopping it into the glass before serving.

Calvados is an alcohol that comes from Normandy in France. This brandy is made from apples and is the perfect alcoholic drink to mix in your cocktails. Today we’re suggesting an old-fashioned calvados cocktail that is done in five minutes.

It’s actually similar to the old-fashioned whiskey cocktail, and if you like that one, you’ll absolutely love this one. Gather all the ingredients that you need and start preparing this heavenly drink. All your friends will be obsessed, asking you to prepare it for parties.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Calvados
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 1/2 oz honey syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura
  • ice

For the honey syrup, all you need to do is mix equal amounts for honey and hot water.

Instructions

Old-fashioned cocktails are usually served in a lowball, old-fashioned glass. To prepare this cocktail you will need a shaker. If you don’t have one you can use a mixing glass.

Fill the shaker with 2 oz Calvados, 2 dashes of orange bitters, 1/2 oz od honey syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura. Mix the shaker very well.

Fill the lowball glass with ice. Open the lid of the shaker and strain the drink in the glass.

Decorate it with an orange twist and enjoy your old-fashioned calvados cocktail.
